Rakuten Broadband Premium

Every domain must be registered with one of the domain management companies, but owners of a domain may change management companies after obtaining a domain.
This process of changing management companies is known as a "domain transfer."

When you obtain a domain from Rakuten Broadband Premium, we become your management company. The steps below outline the process of switching from another domain management company to Rakuten Broadband Premium.

1. You fill out the Domain Registration Service Application form and submit it to us. When transferring a domain from another management company (this process is known as a "transfer"), please draw a circle (=request domain transfer) in the transfer application section of the Domain Registration Service Application before submitting the application.
2. At the time of your application for our domain registration service, indicate to your current domain management company that you intend to switch to Rakuten Broadband Premium (Rakuten Communications Corp.) Important Note: If you do not tell your current ISP or registrar that you are transferring your domain, the transfer request will be rejected. You must tell your current ISP or registrar yourself.
3. After receiving your Domain Registration Service Application form, we will request a domain transfer with the domain management organization.
4. Your current domain management company will inform you of the steps you need to take to transfer the domain. In most cases this amounts to a cancellation of the domain management contract.
5. Follow the instructions of your current domain management company to cancel your domain management contract.
6. Your current domain management company will acknowledge our request for a domain transfer.
7. The domain management organization will notify us that we have been registered as the new management company for your domain.
8. We will notify you that the domain transfer process is complete.
9. We will consult with you to choose a date to change nameservers.
10. At the chosen time, we will carry out the switch to one of our nameservers. (Certain categories of domain may have restrictions on the times at which this switch may be executed. We will inform you of the details after the transfer has completed.)
